My stay at Hotel Nacional Merida had its highs and lows. The hotel's central location made it easy for me to explore the nearby attractions, but the condition of the facilities and the cleanliness left something to be desired. The staff were friendly and helpful, which softened some of the frustrations I encountered.

Rooms

The room I stayed in was spacious with two queen beds, but there were issues like a damp smell and some problems with hot water. While it was clean overall, some fixtures needed attention.
Service

I found the staff to be quite helpful, despite the language barrier. However, the service in the dining area could definitely be improved, as it took several requests to get everything we needed.
Location

The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the Zocalo and numerous cafés and shops. Even though the surrounding roads seemed a bit run-down, it was easy to navigate back to the hotel.

Breakfast at the coffee shop was fine, though not very imaginative. I enjoyed the cheese omelette and refried beans, but it was a bit pricey for the area.
Facilities

The pool looked inviting, and while I didn’t use it, I saw staff cleaning it regularly. However, the rest of the facilities appeared to need some upgrades.

My stay at Hotel Nacional Merida was a mixed experience. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the main square and surrounded by plenty of eateries. However, the rooms, while spacious, had some maintenance issues that needed attention. Overall, it’s a decent place for a short visit, but it could use some updates.

The hotel’s location was its biggest asset. It’s just a couple of blocks from the Zocalo and within walking distance to numerous bars and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring Merida.

I found the breakfast to be decent, with options like cheese omelettes and pancakes, but it could get repetitive. Quality was good, but the service in the restaurant was lacking efficiency.

Facilities were basic, with a pool that I noticed some leaves in by evening. It's functional, but the hotel could use a bit of tender love and care to enhance the overall experience.
